More than Conquerors

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
36 As it is written: “For Your sake we are killed all day long;
We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.”

³⁷ Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. ³⁸ For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, ³⁹ nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:36-39

Only by grace can we stand and it has been the grace of God that has held me up these past few weeks.  I have not written in a long time but as you can tell from the above scriptures, Fuller home school has been going through the fire. 

Before writing this post I was browsing through the previous posts and I bless God because it encouraged me to keep pressing on. Paul said in his letter to the Corinthians that nothing could separate him from the love of Christ. I am so very excited because I can be a witness along with Paul that even in these perilous times when my defense seemed week and hope seems so far away, I came to the realization that my Father in heaven has never left me nor forsaken me.  

Often times we boast about our love for Jesus but today I want  to boast about the love that Jesus has for me. Because HE loved me, HE gave HIS life on the cross. Because God Loved me, HE gave HIS only begotten Son to live on this earth, die on the cross, go to the pits of Hell and take back the power form the devil, God rose HIM up from the dead and took HIM into heaven and now HE is seated on the right hand of the Father, interceding for me. 

Wow!! What manner of love is this? I boast about Jesus who sees me as HIS beloved and because nothing on this earth can make HIM stop loving me, today I boast about the LOVE OF GOD.

The Fuller family and Fuller home school has been going through the fire for the past seven months. We lost our home, all of our furniture, not because of Sandy - and we almost lost each other.  I almost lost my marriage and my children almost lost their father. BUT GOD!!!! BUT GOD!!!

In the midst, holding on is not easy, prayers don't come as often, hope doesn't seem as bright, and giving up seemed to be the next move. But God would not allow me to fall away. He kept on loving me, guiding me and speaking to me.  He kept on teaching and chastising, molding and revealing.  

Sometimes I cried, other times I laughed. For a moment, panic and then with the quickness, peace. I had to purpose in my mind to fight for my marriage, and snatch back my children from the attempts of the devil and now slowly, we are getting back together. 

Through it all, lessons were learned, teaching continued, broken hearts were mended, creativity was born, motivation was resurrected and determination was renewed.

In all things we are more than conquerors.  No Satan, you will not make me quit homeschooling, I will not walk away from God, HE loves me too much.

Abba Father I thank you that you never allowed us to sleep on the street, we are never hungry or dirty, you always supplied all of our needs and even our wants. 

You kept us together as a family and You guided us every step of the way. You are Jehovah Tsidkenu, the Lord our Righteousness. 

TO GOD BE THE GLORY FOR THE GREAT THINGS THAT HE HAS DONE IS DOING AND WILL CONTINUE TO DO IN THE LIFE OF THE FULLER FAMILY.

But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us. ⁸ We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; ⁹ persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed— ¹⁶ Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. ¹⁷ For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, ¹⁸ while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:7-9, 16-18

The Vision

And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.
³ For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry. Habakkuk 2:2-3 (KJV)

So Fuller home School 2013 has taken off.  We started on September 11, and we've been going by the grace of God.  As I flipped through one of my old notebooks from December 2009,  I found the page where in my daily devotion, the Lord had spoken to me pertaining the vision for Fuller Home School. Well what I noticed in those notes was that there was a second part to my vision. 

As I read the words off the page, my heart was beating fast because I realized that the first part of the vision had already come through, you see, I was in my second year of home schooling my children, all four of them. Yes me, the black mama, living in NYC housing projects on the edge of the south Bronx, yes I was homeschooling the children that God gave me. 

Write the vision HE said, the vision is yet for an appointed time.  As I am typing these words, the second part of the vision is being birth out and I know that God is faithful over HIS Word. Wow Lord You are truly awesome.

Be encouraged, with God, all things are possible and you, whosoever is reading this blog, you can do it. Whatever God has laid on your heart to do for HIS children, you can do it. The reason why you can do it, is because it's not you that is doing it but it's through Jesus and His finished work on the cross.  He goes before us to His Father and intercede for us.  

He is the Blood sacrifice that was given for us so when the enemy tries to bind us into lack and poverty, we must remember that through the shed blood of Jesus and His broken body that hung on a cross, Jesus recovered it for us, everything that we gave away. He bought us back from the enemy and put us back in right standings with our Father. Oh!!! how wonderful you are Jesus. Thank you. 

So today, as I embark on the next part of my Journey, with the Lord still on my side I give HIM all the praise and the honor and the glory. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Be encouraged, In Jesus name Amen.

Get up and get dressed

 Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
(Ephesians 6:11-12)

We sometimes get comfortable homeschooling within our four walls, and we tend to forget when we go outside, that there is a whole other world out there for us to deal with.  One of the main reasons I chose to home school was so that I would be able to equip my children with the tools that they needed to face the world.  

God allowed me to see that I was allowing someone else be the dominant person shaping my children's life. One who did not acknowledge HIM and one who valued the things of the world more than the things of God. 

Let's look at it this way, they went to school at 7:30 A.M. and came home at 3:30 P.M. that's eight hours out of the day that they spent with a total stranger with who knows what kind of values. Then, they come home and have to do home work, relax, etc. until bedtime. By the time I got in from work or whatever it is that I did, there is roughly half an hour to an hour, for me to check home work, talk and teach, maybe some form of scripture, (sometimes).

The point is, that by this time it's almost bedtime and so you have officially spent one hour with your child and a few seconds, teaching him or her their true value our worth in the eyes of God. In the meantime some one at school is bullying them, calling them ugly and robing them. Or, on the other hand, they are extremely nice to them, giving them money etc., and on the sly, they are taking sexual advantage of your child, (girl or boy). It's all in the news. For eight hours, your baby endures this other side to their lives and you are totally unaware until something drastic happens.

So, today, before you walk out the door, our send your child off to school, please remember to equip them with all that they need to fight in this raging war. Teach them to put on the full armor of God so that they can withstand the fiery darts of the wicked and if you have not made the decision to home school, give it some more thought and make a decision soon.

If you do home school, please make it a part of your morning devotion to cover your family your home and the educating of GOD'S children, in the blood of HIS son Jesus the Christ.

Let the peace of God keep you...

^" And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:7

The peace of God that comes with homeschooling is one to be desired.  My God would not take away a burden from you to replace it with another burden.  Jesus said, "Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. Matt 11:28-30

Having said that, I remember around this time, every year without fail, I would work myself into a frenzy because there was so much that needed to be done.  Some how it seemed that no matter how early I started I would always end up in the same place - worrying about the children, the changing of the seasons and going back to school.  

Back to school for me meant three sets of uniforms, at least one per person, three of this and three of that. Books, book bags clothes, sneakers jackets, school supplies, you name it and I had to get three of each.  Two girls and a boy. The tension was certainly high for me around this time of year and the burden was definitely heavy.

In 2010, after much debate and fear, knowing that the Lord was leading me to home school my children, after all the research, and pondering over a desire that had been in my heart since 2003 and crying out to the Lord, I made up my mind in that summer of 2010 that I was going to home school my children. 

As soon as I made the decision, the burden was lifted. I looked to the Lord for my help and HE gently led me to the steps that I needed to take to get the job done. Once I started there were many days that I felt like I was failing but God kept on re-assuring me - "MY grace is sufficient"- as long as I kept seeking His guidance, that this was the route He wanted me to go.  

Praise the Lord.  Three years later, here I am, blogging and sharing my experiences.  Today though, what I really want to share with you is the PEACE that comes from God through Christ Jesus when you are obedient to HIS will for your life.  On the outside, I am in a very uncomfortable position, but I find my self in a "praise mode" overcome with gratitude and appreciation.  Oh Father I thank you so much for all that you have done.

As this 2012-2013 school year challenge escalated, with Zariah entering  the High School phase, I heard a little knock of anxiety at the door of my heart but ever so quickly I was reminded of the peace of God which passes all understanding and so I felt compelled in my Spirit to share this with you today, trusting that every need is already met according to HIS riches in glory and so, I am not anxious about deadlines and first day of school but joyfully, I await the manifestation of HIS glory once again in this coming school year.

If you are a homeschooling mom or you are planning on homeschooling your child or children, start claiming HIS peace about the decisions that you have to make. 

What ever you do, acknowledge GOD as you ultimate source and provider, director and deliverer for what ever your circumstances are.  Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Be encouraged.  Remember that we all must be good stewards over everything that God has placed in our lives especially HIS children.  Proverbs 22:6, " Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it." This is our ultimate responsibility for God's children.

To God be all the glory and honor, thank you Abba, Father.

My God supplies school supplies!

"...But my God shall supply all your (MY) need  according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:19

Looking back at this past school year, while getting ready for this upcoming year, it's truly amazing how God had supplied every one of our homeschooling needs.  

I will say of the Lord He is my refuge and my fortress, my God in whom I will trust.  Everything we needed for the school year came to my door. Literally, in boxes and by car.  My God.  I was worrying about how I would be able to afford the school supplies and curriculum last year and so I signed up for a "fundraiser" - well that turned out to be more like a "flop raiser" and put me in debt about $900.00 deep.  

Then one day the Lord reminded me that HE, Jehovah Jireh is my provider and that He shall supply all of my needs...The WORD was, be still and know that I am God.  

Well I stood still and watch God send people to bring things to my door and there was not one thing that we lacked for our homeschool.  We got a new computer, monitor and keyboard complete with new software and security. 

Two boxes of school supplies showed up at the door along with a money card for Walmart and what ever else we needed was supplied and all I could do was give God the glory.  Thank you Father, for being true to your word.

So God laid on my heart to do Vacation Bible School at my church.  Boy oh boy, I wish everyone could have been here with me to witness the awesomeness of God.  He gave me an assignment and as soon as I said yes, HE picked me up and carried me through.  For sometime I have been pondering some things in my spirit. Finally I said yes to God and He blessed me this week. I found such Joy in doing something for someone else. To see God's little children excited and happy and playing and not stressed out about the things of this world.  Blessed to see eight precious ones accept Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.  They traded in the likes of "their super heroes" and accepted Jesus Christ and made HIM the new and only superhero in their lives. I don't remember having ever felt so rich and I haven't had that joy in a long time. Praise be to God. He gets all the glory and praise from my mouth. Thank you Abba Father for blessing me with all of your riches, AMEN.
