REVELATION WORD

“Study to show thyself approved unto God...”
2 Timothy 2:15
LET’S GET STARTED!

How do we go about studying the Bible?
Here is an outline to help you study.
I have a few basic principles that I use when studying the Bible.

First, we need our tools - King James Version Bible, notebook, pen and prayers.
You may have a version of the Bible that you use but I challenge you to not be intimidated by the KJV. The simple reason is that we all need to be on one accord. We need consistency when studying as a team. The KJV wording is different from the other versions and it challenges us to search for ourselves when we encounter a difficult passage or word and it allows GOD to give us a personal revelation of HIMSELF in HIS WORD. This challenge also helps us to develop a deeper appreciation for studying God's word. This doesn't mean throw away our other bible, it just means that for this particular step in our journey, we are going to do something a little different from what we usually do. All right, now we're ready.

1. Know who our teacher is - the Holy Spirit.

2. Acknowledge His presence as we are getting ready to study.

3. Ask HIM to give us understanding, wisdom, and revelation of Jesus Christ as you read.

4. Research - whatever we don't fully understand, research the entire story either in the Bible itself using reference scriptures and/or the internet.

5. Look it up - even if we think we know the meaning of a word, still look up the definition, it will give us a deeper knowledge of what the passage is saying.

*Don't be afraid to dig into word origins and root and original translations of words.
Finally - BELIEVE WHAT WE'VE STUDIED!!!

OUR FIRST LESSON - WHY WE STUDY
2 Timothy 2:15 - "Study to show thyself approved unto GOD"
All right, grab your pens and notebook, because were excavators now, digging into God's word and clearing away all the debris so that God can reveal the TRUTH of His word.
On this journey, there will be a lot of self-searching, and allowing the Holy Spirit to work in our life. This lesson is to help to Empower us which means it will challenge the way we look at ourselves and it will challenge everything that we do and the reasons why we do them. If we are willing to be changed and re-arranged by the power that is the Holy Spirit of God then we shall reap the fruits thereof.

In 2 Timothy, we are instructed to study to show ourselves approved unto God...

1st challenge - WHY are we doing this bible study?
Motives are essential! When we're doing anything, it is crucial that we establish our motives. What is the reason behind the things that we do? Are we studying to show ourselves approved unto mankind, or unto God? Let’s take a minute to allow the Holy Spirit to search our hearts and expose any false motives or lies that have kept us bound for years to situations and relationships that God has already ordained for us to let go of.  (NOTEBOOKS) Write down any lies that we have been listening to that may challenge us to "prove" or make ourselves worthy.

Exposing the LIE - I have to "prove" to...(FILL IN THE BLANKS) that I am good enough; for this job, relationship, to be a wife, to be your friend or any other LIES that we have been accepting.

Revealing the TRUTH that is Jesus the Christ - We study so that God can use us as a vessel to manifest the power that is in the Holy Spirit, which dwells in us. In doing so, God shows the WORLD that it does not matter to HIM what they think of us, when we study, HE proves to the world that HE has already "approved" us to do HIS will and that HE has "empowered" us, me, YOU,  HE has filled us up with  all the power that we need to do HIS will.

Romans 8:28…And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
Moreover, whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.
What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

Let us pause here and allow this truth to take root in our Spirit - We study so that God can prove that HE approves of us even when mankind doesn't!!!!!! We can rest in this truth because we have nothing to prove HALLELUJAH!!!!! God does it all.
